Dipl.-Psych. Kirsten Burkart MS, PP, LCPC
I am 51 years old, married and have one child. When not doing what I enjoy, working with clients, I love being outdoors skiing, biking, hiking, running, gardening…
After initially pursuing studies in medicine, I found my passion for psychology in my undergraduate years. Since then, I have dedicated my career to the field of psychology and mental health. With over 29 years of in- and outpatient work experience, continuous training and education, I am able to conduct psychological assessments, evaluations and offer evidence-based counseling/psychotherapy on the full range of mental health conditions with clients of all ages. I have worked with individuals, couples, groups and families in various settings. Prior to my move to beautiful Montana in 2020, I had been practicing in my own practice in Europe for 10 years.
A “military brat”, my schooling and training took place in both the US and European educational systems. After finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1995, I moved on to obtaining a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Koblenz-Landau, Germany. In 2007 I finished another 5 year professional graduate Degree in Psychological Psychotherapy with a specialization in Clinical Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the Institute for Clinical Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (IFKV) in Bad Dürkheim, Germany.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Montana since 2019.
